About the Role

We are on the lookout for a Creative lLead/ Art Director to join our close-knit team of marketers and creatives as part of a 4 month maternity contract.
Leading the junior and mid-weight designers and reporting to the Global Head of Brand & Marketing you would help drive our brand purpose of championing a future fit for all.


You will play an integral role in creating content that drives brand awareness and work closely with external creative agencies, artworking agencies and creative contractors to deliver on a number of brand campaigns and packaging projects throughout the year.


As well as creative concepting and moodboarding, you will lead and oversee the full creative team, take design concepts through to execution and deliver on all creative campaign assets for each channel, on time.


As Creative Lead/ Art Director you will establish and implement design and format standards and processes to produce consistent and high-quality results that drive business results.

Duties & Responsibilities​​

  • ​​Convert strategic brand briefs into memorable creative concepts and mood boards
  • Live and breathe the BOODY brand purpose, vision, mission and pillars to ensure best creative concepting can occur
  • Maintain creative best practice, and ensure you understand competitors branding in each market, and look to build unique and memorable creative
  • Present concepts to key stakeholders (in marketing and brand) and gain support for creative ideas prior to execution
  • Act as custodian of the brand guidelines and ensure consistency and accuracy is delivered on all channels
  • Oversee the creative and production team and contractors to deliver on brand creative and content for all channels, and work with the creative team to establish production schedules that ensure timeliness and ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • Manage production budgets effectively delivering strong creative that meets the brief
  • Plan and manage product and brand campaign photoshoots
  • Mentor and provide developmental support to our junior designer and midweight designers to ensure the creative team is set up for success to launch projects and campaigns
  • Support the team’s scalability through documentation and process improvement.
  • Conduct regular brainstorming sessions with the creative team, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Inspire the team, build a high performance culture within the creative team and provide mentorship and leadership support
  • Work with the Midweight designer to plan the best practice workflow for efficient output of the creative team to deliver on time and on brand.
  • Oversee the management of external creative partners and contractors and assist in management of production agencies

Skills

  • Ability to design across offline and digital platforms
  • A natural design sense for digital and how it applies to brands: layout, typography, imagery and messaging
  • Ability to think outside ‘the brief’ and add value to campaigns and design
  • Excellent oral and written skills with acute attention to detail and strong, assertive communication skills.
  • Practical skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, including UX capabilities and other essential programs
  • Video editing knowledge & experience highly regarded, Premiere Pro or Final Cut software experience is ideal
  • Experience working with website CMS with working knowledge of HTML & CSS 
  • Working knowledge of marketing automation platforms such as Klaviyo Mailchimp, Pardot, Hubspot, or others

Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience working in a creative agency or brand side in creative role
  • An outstanding portfolio presenting a diverse range of work, ideally live/delivered work with a demonstration of process overview
  • Delivering exceptional creative campaigns on low-medium budgets
  • Experience building and managing a team

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications with formal education across design and marketing

You will support the design and development of the Boody brand marketing communications working to deliver marketing collaterals in line with the brand vision whilst ensuring the brand quality, value, standards and timelines are met. You have an eye for detail, love problem solving and are an excellent communicator who has experience managing multiple deadlines at once.


You have a passion for photography, graphic design and film. You take pride in your work and presentation and never back down from a challenge. You are constantly looking for ways to improve and have a strong work ethic. You’re a team player and support other members of the team from time to time while remaining accountable for your tasks through to completion.

The Fine Print

  • This role is a 4 month contract. We operate on a hybrid model, working from the beautiful Boody HQ in Surry Hills Tuesday - Thursday, with Monday and Friday optional WFH days.
  • We require you to have full residency or a permanent Visa in Australia.
  • No agencies please (we have this one covered!)
