Women’s Bras | An Ultimate Guide

What’s the first thing you do when you get home? The take-your-bra-off-as-soon-as-you-can is a familiar scenario for many women. It’s a liberating feeling that follows with an instant ooh and ahh and signals the end of a long day. Yep, you made it - now off it comes.

But when you think about why you dislike wearing a bra on a daily basis, what are some of the top reasons on your list? For many, it’s the consensus that the under-wire feels restrictive and uncomfortable, especially after wearing it for 8+ hours.

We’re redefining the way you think about bras and have designed super-soft, seamfree and wireless bra styles that are still supportive and can be worn out of the house as much as they can when you want to relax at home. Ethically made from organically grown bamboo; discover the Boody difference in our Ultimate Women’s Bra Guide.

Meet The Padded Shaper Crop Bra

Its contoured cups provide lasting support and give you a perfectly smooth shape underneath any top; meaning you can feel comfortable and wear for everyday wear. The Padded Shaper Crop Bra features a double layer insert that will give you double the confidence and extra coverage, sitting higher on your chest while also creating a defined, natural-looking bust. The contour ribbing and wider straps provide the gentle support you crave when wearing a bra.

Meet The Shaper Crop Bra

Featuring our signature seamfree design, the Shaper Crop Bra pulls on with ease and feels wonderfully comfortable. The soft ribbing and round neck provide contour, enhancing your natural shape. Less coverage than the Padded Shaper Crop Bra, the Shaper Crop Bra has no padding and a single layer of fabric meaning it is lighter to wear.

Meet The Ribbed Seamless Bra

Crafted in a breathable, stretchy ribbed knit fabric - our Ribbed Seamless Bra can be worn as a base layer or alone as a crop top. The Ribbed Seamless Bra is the perfect balance of style and comfort. Discover its soft scoop back and wide under band to support you throughout the day. This easy style has wide non-adjustable wireless straps done in a seamfree design. It has no padding but is double layered to give you coverage and comfort at the same time.

Period Underwear Absorbency Levels Explained: Which One Do You Actually Need?

One of the most common mistakes people make when starting out with period underwear is choosing the wrong absorbency. Either they go too light and end up anxious about leaks, or they go so heavy that the underwear feels cumbersome on a light flow day. Getting this right is the key to loving your period underwear. Here's everything you need to know. The Four Main Absorbency Levels Light Absorbency Light absorbency period underwear typically holds the equivalent of 1-2 regular tampons or around 5-10ml. It's ideal for: spotting, the very beginning or very end of your period, discharge, or as backup to a menstrual cup on light days. Moderate Absorbency Moderate absorbency holds around 2-3 tampons' worth, or approximately 15-20ml. This is the sweet spot for many people on an average flow day. Enough coverage for a standard workday without feeling bulky. Heavy Absorbency Heavy absorbency holds 3-4+ tampons' worth, or around 20-30ml. Great for heavy flow days, anyone with a generally heavier period. Overnight Absorbency Overnight is the highest absorbency and designed with wider, longer coverage for protection while you sleep. They hold 30ml or more and are specifically designed for 8+ hours of overnight protection.   How to Figure Out Your Flow Level If you're used to tampons, think about which absorbency you typically use and how often you change: Light tampon user: start with light or moderate period underwear Regular tampon user: moderate is your baseline Super or super plus tampon user: heavy absorbency will be your friend Anything overnight: always choose overnight You'll Probably Need More Than One Level Here's the thing about periods: they change throughout the cycle. Day one might be spotting, day two your heaviest day, and by day five you're barely there. Most people who love period underwear have a small collection across absorbency levels. Light for the easy days, heavy for the tough ones. It's about having the right pair for the right day. Period Underwear as Backup Many menstrual cup, disc, or tampon users wear period underwear as backup, particularly overnight or on travel days. In this case, light or moderate absorbency is usually all you need. It's the security of knowing you're covered if there's any overflow, without adding bulk. Boody's Period & Leak Proof Underwear Boody's Period & Leak Proof Underwear is designed with genuine absorbency in mind. Not just a thin coating of leak-proof material, but functional layers that genuinely protect. Made from bamboo viscose, they're breathable and soft against skin, because being on your period is inconvenient enough without uncomfortable underwear.   Frequently Asked Questions How many ml do period underwear hold? It varies by absorbency level: light holds around 5-10ml, moderate 15-20ml, heavy 20-30ml, overnight 30ml+. What absorbency for heavy periods? For your heaviest period days, use heavy or overnight absorbency. For very heavy periods, consider pairing with a cup for maximum coverage. Can I get one pair that works for all days? Not really, the same way you wouldn't use one tampon absorbency for your entire period, different days benefit from different levels. A small collection across absorbency levels is the most comfortable approach. What's the most absorbent period underwear? For the most absorbent period underwear, overnight styles offer maximum absorbency and the widest coverage, designed for extended protection while you sleep.
