Eco, Ethics and Labour Certifications
We’re passionate about our environment and the people who live in it. That’s why we feel our customers deserve to know where their clothes come from, how they’re made and who is making them.
We are committed to producing high-quality products and focus on sustainable materials and practices so that we have a minimum footprint on our planet and a positive impact on its people.
However there are many claims out there today without sufficient evidence, so we feel it’s important to substantiate our eco stance with as much criteria as possible. Here’s a detailed list of our accredited certifications and what they mean.
Ecocert is an inspection and certification body accredited under the International Standard ISO Guide 65 (EN 45011). Founded in 1991 in France by agricultural engineers aware of the need to develop an agriculture that respects the environment, Ecocert has become the leader in Organic Certification globally.
At each step, Ecocert provides a guarantee of traceability and transparency that meets the expectations of consumers and users. Certification is subject to supervision and requires site visits. Certification bodies are themselves audited by the relevant authorities and bodies as part of the accreditation process to ensures independence, competence and impartiality.
We are proud that the raw bamboo we use for Boody is certified as organically grown by Ecocert.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 (Confidence in Textiles)
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX is a worldwide independent testing and certification system for raw, semi finished and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used as part of production processes.
Since its introduction in 1992, OEKO-TEX has developed test criteria and methods which it implements using strict limit values on several hundred regulated substances to ensure the finished fibre (in our case our viscose yarn) is not found to contain any trace of chemicals that pose any health threat whatsoever. Further, OEKO-TEX certification ensures the responsible use of chemical wastage on the environment, pioneering the promotion of globally sustainable awareness and implementation in production.
It is important to note that the pre-condition for certification of products is that all parts of an article meet the required criteria. This means the outer and inner fabric, sewing threads, inserts and prints, as well as non-textile accessories such as buttons, zip fasteners and rivets.
OEKO-TEX tests for all levels of skin contact and sensitivity. With the introduction of Boody Baby, we ensure that all Boody products are certified with Product Class 1, the highest class suitable for babies and toddlers, with the most sensitive of skin.

As part of the design process of all of our collections, SGS performs a thorough range of independent tests on garment samples to ensure fabric content and quality are in-line with the content on our labels, as well as regulatory standards. This ensures that our fabrics meet health and safety standards in each country in which we sell Boody.
Established in 1878 SGS transformed grain trading in Europe by offering agricultural safety inspection services. The current structure of the organisation covers inspection, testing, certification and verification across ten business segments.
Since consumers are constantly in close contact with textiles and clothing, SGS recognised that the need for safety and quality is paramount and so created compliance certification according to regulation in ten geographic regions globally. They have extended their certification to cover environmental impact, implementing ‘eco-design’ compliance and testing in recent years.
